Network and plan details

Quick facts

Singapore is small, dense, and wired end to end, so coverage is never the question. The point of a travel eSIM here is speed: you walk off the plane already online, book a Grab, and head into the city without a stop. For a stopover of a day or two, that is the whole value.

What you can use the data for

Grab. Rides and food across the island, with the fare shown up front. From Changi it is the simplest way into town if you are skipping the MRT.

Maps and transit. Google Maps covers the MRT, buses, and walking routes precisely, which matters when you are connecting between Marina Bay, Sentosa, and the airport on a tight schedule.

Messaging. WhatsApp and your usual apps for confirming meetings, hotels, or the next leg of your flight, all running on data.

Quick bookings. Gardens by the Bay slots, Sentosa attractions, and restaurant reservations are easiest to sort over data while you are moving.

Where it works

Singapore is covered island-wide with fast, reliable service. The places you will be are all served:

Coverage is excellent across the entire island, including underground on the MRT and inside the malls. There are no meaningful dead zones, which is rare anywhere in the world.

Common situations

Stopover between long-haul flights

Activate on the Changi wifi, book a Grab or hop on the MRT, and spend your layover in the city instead of the terminal. A small data plan is plenty for a day or two.

Business trip to the CBD

Stay on email and messaging between meetings in Raffles Place and Marina Bay without hunting for wifi. The eSIM runs beside your home SIM, so your usual number still rings.

Family visit or short holiday

Keep maps and booking apps live across Sentosa, the Zoo, and Gardens by the Bay, with no shop visit and no registration.

How to install your eSIM before you fly

  1. Buy the plan. The eSIM arrives by email, usually within a minute. Install it at home on Wi-Fi with the one-tap link or the QR code in the email. 8 plans start counting at install or purchase, and the tables mark them. Install those close to your flight.
  2. Name the line Singapore and keep it off until you land at Changi. Do not delete it after setup, because an eSIM installs only once.
  3. On arrival, turn the line on, choose it for mobile data and turn on data roaming for it. Turn off data roaming on your home line.

Screen by screen steps for iPhone and Android are in our travel eSIM install guide.
