Bought an AT&T eSIM on eBay or Reddit? Verify it first.
Marketplace eSIMs (eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Reddit, Discord) are cheap but risky. Before you scan that QR code into your phone, run a $2 verification check โ it tells you whether the activation code is still claimable, already used, or expired.
Verify your eSIM โ $2
Send us the QR code or activation string. We confirm claimability in 5 minutes.
Why marketplace eSIMs go wrong
AT&T blank eSIMs are paper-cheap to generate in bulk if you have dealer access. That's why they show up on eBay for $5-$15 โ well below our retail $12. The problem: there's no way to visually inspect a QR code and know whether it's still good. The QR encodes a one-time activation URL. Once scanned by anyone, it's burned.
The three failure modes we see most often: (1) seller scammed you โ they scanned the code themselves first or resold the same QR to multiple buyers; (2) the activation code expired (AT&T's blank-eSIM codes typically have a 60-90 day window from generation); (3) the code was generated from a now-revoked dealer account and AT&T's provisioning server rejects it.
How our verification works
- Go to /verify-esim.html and pay $2.
- Upload the QR image or paste the activation string (the part after
LPA:1$). - We query AT&T's provisioning endpoint with the SM-DP+ server address and matching ID.
- Within 5 minutes you get a verdict: claimable, already claimed, or expired/invalid.
- If claimable, you can safely scan and activate. If not, you have proof to dispute with the seller (eBay/PayPal generally honor this).
Pricing and when to use it
| Scenario | Verify first? | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Bought direct from MeiSIM | No โ already valid | $0 |
| eBay/Facebook from a stranger | Yes | $2 |
| Reddit / Discord trade | Strongly yes | $2 |
| Gift from a friend | Probably skip | $0 |
If verification comes back "already claimed," do not pay or escalate to your payment processor with the screenshot. If "expired," some sellers will issue a fresh code; ask. If you'd rather skip the marketplace gamble entirely, our retail blank AT&T eSIM is $12 โ verified live at purchase.

FAQ
How long does verification take?
Usually under 5 minutes. The provisioning query is fast โ most of the wait is queue time during business hours.
What if the seller refuses a verification window?
That's a red flag. Legitimate resellers are happy to wait 10 minutes for a $2 check. If they refuse, walk away.
Does verification work for Airalo, Holafly, or other travel eSIMs?
Our $2 check is calibrated for AT&T blank eSIMs and US-carrier eSIMs. Travel-eSIM aggregators use different provisioning systems and may not return a usable verdict.
I already scanned and it failed. Can verification still help?
Yes โ running it post-scan tells you whether the failure is on the code (invalid) or on your device (e.g., region lock). See our troubleshooting guide.
