Why this is a problem most Chinese travelers hit
The first time most Chinese travelers try to buy a US eSIM, they discover the same wall: Airalo, Holafly, Ubigi, and most large international eSIM sellers route through Stripe or Adyen, which prefer Visa/Mastercard and reject Chinese-issued UnionPay cards roughly half the time. A UnionPay credit card with international support might work; a domestic-only UnionPay debit card will fail. Alipay and WeChat Pay are usually not offered at all.
Travelers end up using a friend's card, signing up for Wise/Revolut to get a virtual Mastercard, or buying USDT on Binance and then trying to pay with crypto. All of those add 24-72 hours of delay before they actually have a working eSIM.
