MeiSIM USA connector for Claude
Real US phone lines for AI agents, travel eSIM plans and US phone plans, read by Claude from the public catalog.
The connector is an MCP server that lets Claude read MeiSIM's public catalog while you chat: the current offer for real US phone lines used by AI agents, travel eSIM data plans for about 200 countries, retail US phone plans for a handset, and the price of any one plan. It is read-only and needs no login. Nothing in the conversation can open an account, order a line, buy a plan, move money, or read or send a message. When you want to buy, Claude gives you a link that opens that exact plan on meisimusa.com, where you pay by card.
| Endpoint | https://mcp.meisimusa.com/mcp-directory |
|---|---|
| Transport | MCP over streamable HTTP |
| Sign-in | None. Any key or token sent with a request is ignored. |
| Data | Public catalog only. No customer data is held or returned. |
How to add it
From Claude's connector directory. Open the directory in Claude, find MeiSIM USA, and add it. There is no account to connect and nothing to approve: the connector is ready as soon as it is added.
As a custom connector. In Claude's settings, under Connectors, choose to add a custom connector, give it a name, and enter the URL https://mcp.meisimusa.com/mcp-directory. Leave the sign-in fields empty; the server does not use OAuth or an API key. Save, and the four tools below appear in the chat's tool list.
Developers can also point any MCP client at the same URL. The full server for account holders, with an API key, is a different endpoint and is described on the API for AI agents page.
The four tools
| Tool | What it returns |
|---|---|
get_ai_line_offer | MeiSIM's current offer for real US phone lines used by AI agents: the monthly price per number for texts, and for texts plus voice over SIP; the first-term minimum; what a line includes (a real US mobile number on a national carrier, inbound texts to a webhook or over the API, voice over SIP with the number as caller ID, one call at a time, outbound calls to US numbers only); delivery time; payment methods; how many numbers are ready now; and the links to apply and to the API docs. Takes no input. |
search_plans | Travel eSIM data plans that work in a destination country, cheapest first by default: data allowance, validity in days, USD price, coverage (one country, or a regional plan and how many countries it covers) and a buy_url that opens that exact plan on meisimusa.com. Takes a two-letter country code and the number of days, optionally a minimum data size, a sort order and how many plans to return (10 by default, up to 50). |
search_us_numbers | Retail US phone plans for a person's own phone: a US number with calls, texts and data on a US carrier, paid by card, with no SSN or contract. Returns each plan's carrier, monthly price, data, minutes and texts, and a buy_url. Takes an optional maximum monthly price and how many plans to return. |
get_quote | The current USD price of one travel eSIM or retail US phone plan, by its plan_id from a search: the plan, a price breakdown (subtotal, taxes, fees, total), when the quote expires, and the buy_url. An optional destination country labels a regional plan and opens its buy page for that country. |
Every tool is marked read-only in its MCP annotations and declares the exact shape of what it returns, so strict clients validate each result.
Example prompts
- "What would a US number with voice over SIP cost for my AI phone agent, and how do I connect it?"
- "I'm building an AI companion app. How could each user's companion get its own US number?"
- "Find me a 5 GB eSIM for Italy for 10 days."
- "Show US phone plans with a number for under $20 a month."
The first two are answered from get_ai_line_offer, which reads the live prices and stock from MeiSIM's own settings. The third runs search_plans for Italy; the fourth runs search_us_numbers with a price cap. Claude may follow a search with get_quote to confirm one plan's price before giving you its buy link.
What it can't do
- No accounts: it cannot open, sign in to or read a MeiSIM account.
- No orders, payments or messages: it cannot buy a plan, order or renew a line, top up, or send or read a text.
- Plans are bought on meisimusa.com. Each plan Claude shows carries a
buy_urlthat opens that exact plan in the shop, where you pay by card and the eSIM is emailed to you. - Phone lines for AI agents need an approved account. The offer tool gives the link to apply; a person approves each account before an API key is issued, and lines are then ordered by API or from the dashboard, never through this connector.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| No plans found | Ask with the two-letter country code (IT, JP, MX) or with fewer filters: drop the data size or shorten the number of days. A regional plan that covers the country still shows up when the code is right. |
| The price changed | Quotes are short-lived and prices follow the live catalog. Ask again for a fresh quote; the buy page always shows the price you will pay. |
| A tool returns an error | The error names the cause: an unknown plan id, a country the plan does not cover, or a rate limit with the seconds to wait. Re-run the search and try again. |
| Tools not responding | Check mcp.meisimusa.com/health; it answers ok: true when the server is up. If it does not, or the tools keep failing, email support@meisimusa.com with the time and the prompt you used. |
Privacy
What the connector receives. Only the arguments Claude sends to a tool: a country code, a number of days, a data size, a sort order, a page size, a plan id or a price cap. It receives no account, identity, contact details or conversation text, and it never asks for any.
What it logs. One line per tool call: the time, the tool name, those arguments, whether the call succeeded or the error code, and how long it took. When the catalog behind it fails, the failing path and status code are logged as well. Nothing else is recorded: no IP address, no headers, no session or conversation identifier, and no conversation content. The reverse proxy in front of the server keeps no access log.
How long. The log is the server's own output, kept on the server in three rotating files of 10 MB and cleared when the server is redeployed. It is read by MeiSIM staff to fix faults and is not shared, sold or combined with other data.
MeiSIM's privacy policy covers the website and the shop, where a purchase made through a buy link is handled.
